"This is me at the hospital in Chivirico, Cuba. It did not take very long and they happily posed for a few pictures.  The hospital is located at the end of town, surrounded by banana trees, at the foot of the Sierra Maestra mountains.  I have since befriended a dentist/doctor couple in the very small village near my hotel, and will take a suitcase suitable for a clinic, when I go next time. It is a pleasure to help Cubans, and I do spread the word." - Barbara Thurston

"I am mailing in our delivery report for the package that we took down to Cuba over New Years. We dropped it off at Policlinico #2 Celia Sanchez Manduley, in the city of Trinidad. The director of the hospital is Dr. Juan Carlos Carles Zerquera, apparently from a well known family in the city and a very well regarded doctor. He was very grateful for the goods and said that they only get one or two drop-offs a year. The clinic serves about 10,000 people with frontline medical services and is pretty basic in terms of supplies, so any further shipments would be welcome.  They were very welcoming and in fact we were taken to see Dr. Carlos within 10 minutes of arrival. It was a nice addition to our trip which was largely focused on community contact in different towns that we visited."  - James Weyman and Heather Gilman

"My holiday took on a whole new meaning once I found out about NJTT". Dianne Billington and her family delivered three suitcases of medical supplies to three clinics between Santiago de Cuba and the town of Chivirico (Jan 2009).

"Here are the pictures I snapped from our trip to the hospital just outside Cardenas. The experience was both humbling and surreal. We arrived at the hospital and made our way to the administrator's office where we met with the administrator and provided her with the bags and she stamped our paperwork. After that, we were taken on a tour of the facilities, there were many people and family members all around the hospital, space is tight, what little equipment and supplies they have are well organized. Visiting the hospital I wish we could have brought more cases, perhaps next time. It was our pleasure to deliver the supplies to Cuba." - Garth
