Not Just Tourists Toronto
sends donations of medicines and medical supplies to
Cuba and other developing countries. These supplies are packed in donated
suitcases and transported by travellers to those countries.
The total weight of each packed
suitcase does not exceed 10 kilograms. Our supplies are
accompanied by a letter signed by a Canadian physician and
addressed to a medical facility in the receiving country.
We are not in a position to be able to fill wish lists. Material sent is based on needs identified by
health care personnel in receiving countries.
We accept:
 | a range of prescription medicines
such as antibiotics, anti-virals, diuretics, and others. |
 | most patent medicines such as those
used to treat colds and, allergies and pain relief.
|
 | vitamins and minerals.
|
 | medical and surgical supplies such as scalpels,
wound-care kits, IV kits in sterile packaging, masks,
hospital uniforms and bed linens. |
 | eyeglasses and sunglasses. |
 | prescription and non-prescription
creams such as lubricants, antibiotics, and topical
anesthetics. |
 | dental and dental hygiene supplies.

 | condoms, birth control pills, and personal hygiene items.
|
 | issues of the Compendium of
Pharmaceuticals and Specialties. |
 | suitcases, backpacks and other
luggage bags. |
 | baby supplies such as diapers,
baby food, bottles, pacifiers, etc. |
 | stationary supplies such pens,
pencils, paper, etc. |
We do not accept:
 | narcotics or medicines on the
controlled list. |
 | medicines that are no longer
approved by Health Canada. |
 | the contents of personal medicine
cabinets unless unopened and sealed. |
 | alternative medications that are
likely to be unfamiliar to medical personnel in developing
countries |
 | clothing or educational materials.
