Not Just Tourists Toronto
started in 2004 with a small group who were
determined to make the project work. We now have a
steering committee, dozens of volunteers, a growing
number of doctors and nurses who work with us. Working
together and sharing the load, we send tonnes of
medicines and medical supplies to Cuba and other
developing countries. Any community can make
this project a success – it’s just a matter of scale.
In 2005 we were pleased
to initiate a series of e-mail messages which we sent to
contacts across Canada who were interested in forming NJT projects in their own communities. In part as a
result of this process, projects are now functioning in
Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, and Kingston.
If
you would like to receive this series of e-mails (one a
week for six to eight weeks) please e-mail us at
njttoronto@gmail.com.
We’ll respond to any questions that you may have and be
pleased to send you the e-mail messages on how to start
an NJT project in your community.
