If you would like to deliver a suitcase of medicine
on your trip to Cuba, then please complete the online
Record of Traveller Form.
We require the completed form at least one week before your departure.
Full suitcases normally weigh 10 kilograms or less
and must be picked up by travellers at one of several
locations in Toronto and Mississauga (we do not deliver suitcases to
travellers). A letter signed by a Canadian doctor is included in each suitcase
advising customs officials that the traveller is
transporting the medicine to a medical facility in the
country of destination. This practice
conforms to both Canadian law and the law of the recipient
countries.
Travellers are asked to have the letter signed by the
official receiving the suitcase of donations. On their
return to Canada, they are asked to mail the signed form to
the address on the letterhead.
You may browse through
previous travellers' experiences
to see photos and letters from travellers who have delivered
medical aid with Not Just Tourists Toronto.
Note: Travellers are cautioned that the suitcase of
medicines will form part of their personal baggage weight
allowance.
However, some airlines allow passengers to carry
extra humanitarian aid in addition to the standard weight
allowance at no extra charge . Travellers are advised
to contact their airline in advance to confirm this policy.
As
much as we would like to, we simply cannot fill special
requests from Cuban doctors with respect to the contents of
the suitcases. The logistics of filling individual
wish lists are extremely complicated and we are limited by
the donations we receive.
When you have returned from your trip, we would love to hear
about your experience! Feel free to contact us via the
Feedback Form.
We ask that you
give us at least one week's notice when requesting a
suitcase, if possible.
